Would you happen to know how many references this bible has? I don't see that information on their website.

I like most of the changes on the new Quentel. As someone who actually uses cross references frequently, the complete removal of the in text superscript markers is a deal breaker for me. They not only inform the reader that there is a cross reference, but they identify which specific part of the text has a reference. Colossians 1:16 for example has 4 different superscript letters referring to 4 different parts of the text. If you want to find cross references for only 1 part, you have no idea which references to look up. Without the superscript indicators I feel the bottom cross references are just a waste of space that could have been used to make the Bible thinner or make 36 gsm paper possible. The small verse numbers are also a deal breaker for preaching.

If you just wanted to read, you wouldn't need the study notes. There's a few chronological bibles out there that wouldn't have busy pages, just scripture.

As I watched this message, the sinking feeling came over me when I remembered the believers in the reformation went to a place where the bible was chained to the church building to prevent it from being stolen. And people had to wait to read it if they could read at all. Others came and listened to it being read.... with bibles so readily available today it's not so precious..... yet we are heading towards apostasy.

Anyone have input as to what types of writing instruments will work without mess or bleed through? It’s such as fine tip sharpie or colored felt? How about colored conventional ink pens?

I usually don't watch reviews for Schuyler Bibles because I know they are out of my price range. But, it's been a while since I watched any of your reviews, Randy. So I thought I would stop by and say hello! :)

The Zondervan looks nice and interesting. I might consider getting one if the make a NASB 2020 edition. I agree though about the Lockman NASB 2020 Wide Margin Reference, it is the better typesetting. I have one and its great. I love using it.

I prefer the double column layout, but I prefer the paper in the lockman...sepia, not bright white

Hi Randy , may I clarify what I believe is "line matched" ? Line matched is when the beginning and ending of the verses on each side of the column of text is ruler straight , and all the verse numbers are along the left side but slightly indented , with the new chapter being in LARGE, bold numbers at the top left corner , flush with the beginning of the verses . It"s probably what I love most about Thomas Nelson bibles , because the text is SO aesthetically pleasing ! ❤

I prefer the Lockman. Zondervan/Thomas Nelson text columns are too narrow for me.

Font looks small. How did it feel for you to preach from it?

Is too much consolidation among Bible publishers a bad thing? It seems like zondervan had bought out several other publishers. Does this put the bible in danger of zondervan ceases to exist?

I want one, but I'm afraid of the KJV. I'm slightly autistic and have trouble reading anyway, but I want to give it to God. I want to trust Him that I can read it, and I absolutely love this Bible. Every time I open my phone, I think about it, so I feel like God is calling me to it for some reason.

Thanks Randy, I bought this one because I wanted to replace my old NKJV thinline with a text only KJV that has the same footprint , and it does! I LOVE the black Genuine leather, with the Red page edges . The print size is also the same as my old one but darker in both the black and the red . And your review confirms that I made great choice !

At 1:14. The Cambridge Paragraph Bibles are bound in nice leather and use high quality paper. However the price is a shocker, with some Bibles coming in at over $200.

hey Randy, in your opinion, why do you think that the KJV Canterbury is the highest rated bible on Evangelical Bible?

I really would like to find a compact or thinline buffalo or goat leather, go everywhere with me sized, large print (10-11), NIV, CSB, ESV or even NLT, preferably with references. It's like a unicorn for me lol

Are there tutorials on searching within the app? I want to search references for “Gods love for us”. I have a number of commentaries, bibles, etc but have never mastered the art of searching nor saving what I have found. Just wondering. I like and use your app often. I am not okay paying good money for a flashy cover wrapping a none line matched text block. Why NIV publishers don't work out an agreement is beyond me?

Does every 1611 KJV comes with all that stuff in the beginning before The Book of Moses? I have a KJV Bible, in fact it was my first Bible, but it doesn't have any of that. Very cool.

I won't buy a new schuyler. the 11 point with no drop caps is easier to read and a much cleaner text. i think in the long term sales will go down because most people who buy an expensive bible are older (40+) and want a large font.

Yeah, I have a Black Pearl NKJV and it is by far my fave cover. It doesn’t have a full yapp, and I was wondering if I wanted to trade for one, but after seeing that this is not just full yapp but *overlapping*, I now hesitate. I wonder if that’s an artifact of this updated page layout causing the text block to be thinner. Is it, indeed thinner? If so, they may need to adjust their cover dimensions slightly next run. Anyway, thanks, looking forward to your upcoming comparison (don’t forget to check the text blocks’ thicknesses). 👍🏼

Bullinger’s KJV Companion Bible with 198 appendixes is the best study Bible hands down. Not a fancy binding BUT for deep bible study it’s a must.

Nice. But I like more the old Bibles. ....the thick paper, and the more rustic feel and look to it, and the wonderful smell. Wish they still made some of that.

can you compare old and new style text next to each other? Curious how much that 11pt to 10pt matters

This is an amazing Bible. I do however prefer the NKJV large print wide margin Bible, as the footnotes and references are set off in red, making it much easier to find them

The fact that he refused to speak down on other manufacturers at multiple points of this interview spoke volumes of the company. They do not seem to subscribe to the ‘elitist’ mentality. When you are good at something, other people will profess it for you.

I have the latest the refreshed olive Green. It’s stunning with the Lion stomping the serpent . And for those complaining about the price , you can’t put premium on the Word of God. The Word of God should be taken as reverence anyway. And it should be personal to each individual.
